New And Amended Airport Fees Introduced By Qatar

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority recently announced that beginning April 1, 2022 any passengers arriving, leaving, or transiting through Hamad International Airport will be subject to additional passenger service fees. The announcement, made in Circular No. 2, was circulated to all airline managers and travel agents in Qatar.
The fees relate to airport development, passenger facilities, security, and freight/cargo shipments.
The new fees are as follows:
- 60 QR per passenger for Airport development for all departing passengers, including those transiting for up to 24 hours;
- 60 QR per passenger as passenger facilities fees for all departing passengers, including those transiting for up to 24 hours; and
- 10 QR per passenger for passenger safety and security for all departing passengers, including those transiting for up to 24 hours.
Babies under the age of two, transiting passengers on the same plane, flight crew on duty, and forced flight redirection due to valid reasons, are exempted from these fees.
Furthermore, there is a QR 10 per metric tonne fee applied to all incoming and in-transit cargo shipments, including postage. Shipments remaining on the same aircraft are exempt from this additional fee.
