Qatar Launches Unified Platform For Employment Disputes
May 26, 2021
On May 24, 2021 the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (“MADLSA”) announced the launch of the first phase of its unified platform for labour related complaints by employees and whistleblowers. The unified platform will allow private sector employees and domestic workers to file complaints through the electronic system. The unified platform also permits citizens and residents to file whistleblowing complaints regarding violations of the Labour Law (Law No. 14 of 2004) and the Domestic Workers Law (Law No. 15 of 2017).
Using the unified platform a user can file a complaint or report a violation, follow-up on complaints, review the personal data registered with MADLSA, and update contact information from a mobile number or an email.
The unified platform may be accessed through the National Authentication System. Users will be required to enter their national ID number and mobile number. The system will then send a one-time passcode to verify the mobile number. Complaints may also be filed based on visa information, provided that the phone number supplied is linked to the visa.
Multiple means of accessing the platform are available, including through web browsers and smartphones.
