Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners (“SAP”) is looking for talented professionals to fill Associate level positions in our arbitration department. Associates at SAP interact with assigned junior and senior members of the department to provide the best legal services to SAP’s clients and learn to hone and develop their legal skills. Associates are responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents and memoranda, attending client meetings, and keeping client files up to date. The job description and responsibilities for an Associate at SAP encompass, without limitation, the following:
- Conducting legal research to support the arbitration dispute, including researching relevant laws, regulations, and precedents that may apply to the case.
- Preparing and drafting various legal documents, such as arbitration agreements, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Assisting in the collection and organization of evidence and documents relevant to the arbitration case.
- Attending arbitration hearings, presenting arguments, and assisting with the examination of witnesses if necessary and coordinating with experts.
- Maintaining regular communication with clients, providing updates on the progress of their arbitration cases, and addressing their concerns and questions.
- Participating in settlement negotiations and discussions with opposing parties to resolve the dispute without the need for a full arbitration hearing.
- Performing administrative duties such as gathering and filing documents, and tracking records and hearing schedules.
Candidate requirements and qualifications:
- 3 – 4 PQE
- Accredited law degree
- Specialty in construction law is strongly preferred
- Ability to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
- Strong writing skills, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are necessary
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure.
- An ability to work in collaboration with others and to develop legal skills.
- Capacity to organise, prioritise and supervise work.

- Arabic speaking ability is an advantage
