Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners (“SAP”) is looking for talented professionals to fill Associate level positions in our corporate/advisory department. Associates at SAP interact with assigned junior and senior members of the department to provide the best legal services to SAP’s clients and learn to hone and develop their legal skills. Associates are responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents and memoranda, attending client meetings, and keeping client files up to date. The job description and responsibilities for an Associate at SAP encompass, without limitation, the following:
- Handling multiple legal matters simultaneously.
- Preparing client advice, documents, strategies, and memorandums.
- Representing clients independently or alongside other department team members in meetings and negotiations.
- Reporting to Senior Associates, Partners and the Managing Partner on the progress of matters on a regular basis.
- Creating and maintaining solid relationships with the firm’s clients through effective and clear communication regarding client matters and legal proceedings.
- Engaging and participating in business development activities to develop new clients through marketing, networking, writing articles, and speaking engagements.
- Contributing to the firm’s commitment to CSR initiatives through pro-bono work and social activities.
- Coaching junior staff and assisting in developing their legal skills.
Associates must meet the following requirements and qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a law firm or legal practice.
- An accredited Law degree.
- Strong legal knowledge and capability to comprehend complex matters and identify the laws that are applicable to them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (preferably in Arabic and English).
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure.
- An ability to work in collaboration with others and to develop their legal skills.
- Capacity to organise, prioritise and supervise work.
- Demonstrable client service orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
