Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners (“SAP”) is looking for a talented professional to fill a full-time Partner level position in our Corporate/Advisory Department. As a Partner at SAP, you will be expected to display leadership and management skills and to support the effective management of both the staff and the firm generally. You will also develop and grow the department and the firm as a whole by ensuring that the highest level of professional standards and client care are maintained at all times. You also will be responsible for ensuring that individual team members, and the department, are effective and profitable in the delivery of the firm’s services to its clients. The job description and responsibilities for a Partner at SAP encompass, without limitation, the following:

  • Managing the department and maintaining oversight on an operational basis.
  • Ensuring individual team members and the department are effective and profitable in the delivery of the firm’s services to its clients.
  • Establishing departmental strategies through strategic thinking and direction.
  • Establishing financial strategies of the department.
  • Generating revenue through client management and relationship-building activities.
  • Increasing revenue through the introduction of new services, and value-added offerings.
  • Conducting staff performance evaluations.
  • Preventing and managing conflicts.
  • Ensuring the highest level of professional standards and client care at all times.
  • Initiating and maintaining relationships in order to obtain new clients and to maximise business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Maximising potential cross-selling opportunities.
  • Proactively identifying new marketing and networking opportunities and attending events as required.
  • Enhancing the firm’s reputation by setting an example regarding ethics, morals, legal and professionalism and reaffirming those standards throughout the firm.
  • Proposing human resource strategies appropriate to the department’s needs.
  • Establishing effective financial controls for matters under your supervision in accordance with firm policy.
  • Ensuring that the firm is achieving its goals and client satisfaction by evaluating productivity and the quality of service, and recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Building the firm’s credibility, business development, and public relations opportunities by planning, organizing, and speaking at events such as webinars, media events, and marketing initiatives.
  • Coaching more junior staff and assisting in developing their legal skills.

Candidates for a Partner position at SAP must meet the following requirements and qualifications:

  • An accredited Law degree.
  • 12 – 15 years of experience in a law firm or legal practice.
  • An ability to think strategically by recognising and capitalising on market trends.
  • Exceptional management and supervisory skills.
  • Strong legal knowledge and capability to comprehend complex matters and identify the laws that are applicable to them.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent business development skills.
  • An ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Capacity to prioritise and appropriately assign work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (preferably in Arabic and English).
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • An ability to work under pressure.
